Women in Engineering - Visit
Orange and Blue Days
In conjunction with the University's Orange & Blue Days, the Women in Engineering Program will be holding an informal reception for all prospective female engineers and their parents to give them the opportunity to meet current Engineering students and faculty. All women interested in engineering fields are welcome to attend, including future Agricultural & Biological Engineers and Chemical Engineers. Please visit go.illinois.edu/visitwie, under the Programs Tab, for further information. Light refreshments will be served.
Engineering Information Bureau Days
Operated by student-run Engineering Council, the Engineering Information Bureau offers programs that are designed to inform interested individuals and groups—most often prospective students and their parents. These visits are managed separately from campus or college visit programs.
In April 2016, join the Illinois Society of Women Engineers (SWE) for Little Sister's Weekend! At this event, female students admitted into engineering disciplines will have an opportunity to meet and room with a current female engineering student in SWE for the weekend. Activities include attending Friday's classes, previewing residence hall life, and learning about their area of interest from our students. Check up on future developments by going to Little Sister's Weekend or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Also in April 2016, join the women of Alpha Omega Epsilon (AOE) for Engineering 101! This annual event caters to incoming engineering women by acquainting them with campus, fellow future classmates, and the wonderful sisters of AOE. It is an overnight event allowing future students to preview college life by shadowing a current student for the day and spending the evening in a residence hall. Participants will be paired with a current student in their area of interest and learn about the University in a small, personal environment. Check Engineering 101 for details.
