Freshmen Engineering Scholarships

Scholarship decisions are based on your application for admission. No other information is needed. 

The size of Engineering scholarships varies from $2,000 to $15,000. Many are renewable for up to four years. Do know that the total amount available to you is limited to cost of attendance, so scholarship amounts may be reduced if the aggregate is greater than the cost of attendance.

Illinois Engineering Enhanced Scholarship  $10,000/year renewable  Admitted to the College of Engineering. Extremely high performance in ACT or SAT and high school work.  US Citizen or Permanent Resident.  3.0 gpa with continued enrollment in a College of Engineering program.
Engineering Excellence Scholarship  $7,500/year renewable  Admitted to the College of Engineering. Extremely high performance in ACT or SAT and high school work.  US Citizen or Permanent Resident. 3.0 gpa with continued enrollment in a College of Engineering program.
Illinois Engineering Achievement Scholarship  Various amounts; one-time or renewable  Admitted to the College of Engineering. Extremely high performance in ACT or SAT and high school work. US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Varies by actual scholarship received. When renewable, student with 3.0 gpa and continued enrollment in a College of Engineering program.
Eugene and Marian Berthold Engineering Scholarship $4,000/year renewable  Admitted to an engineering program.  Must have demonstrated financial need and be a graduate of Danville High School in Danville, Illinois.  Students from other public high schools in Vermilion County, Illinois and within the state of Illinois can only be considered if the scholarship cannot be given to a Danville HS graduate for an extended period.  Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program.
College Achievement Scholarship (CAS)  $3,000/year renewable  Depends upon fund used.  This scholarship title is used for initial scholarship offers.  The actual scholarship received will be from a specific donor, such as Ackerman (below).  Varies by actual scholarship received.  In general, a student must be enrolled in an engineering program and be in Good Standing academically.  Some scholarship funds have higher requirements. 
Engineering Freshman Scholarship (EFS)  One time, various amounts (indicated in offer letter) Depends upon fund used.  This scholarship title is used for initial scholarship offers.  The actual scholarship received will be from a specific donor, such as Ackerman (below). Not renewable 
William L. and Elizabeth A. Ackerman Scholarships  $3,000 one-time or renewable (indicated in offer letter) Financial need based on FAFSA is required, as is admission to an engineering program. High performance in high school and ACT or SAT.  Among equal candidates, preference is given to Peoria, IL school district high school graduate  Student must be in upper half of class and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program. 
William and Josephine Albrecht Engineering Scholarship  $3000 one time  High academic merit, admission to an engineering program.  Non-renewable 
Hilda J Alseth Scholarship $3000 one time Financial need based on FAFSA, high academic merit and admission to an engineering program. Non-renewable
Robert K. Baetzmann Scholarship $3000 one time High academic merit and admission to an engineering program. Non-renewable
Edward E. and Elizabeth Joanne De Zwarte Engineering Scholarhips $3000 one-time or renewable (indicated in offer letter) Admission to an engineering program.  High performance in high school and ACT or SAT.  Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program.
LTC Paul F. Drake Undergraduate Award $2000 one time Admission to an engineering program. First preference to a student from Scott County, IL.  Second preference to a student from counties adjacent to Scott County, IL.  High performance in high school and ACT or SAT. Non-renewable
Anthony G. and Marcella C. Dulle Scholarships  $2000 one time  First preference to student from Clinton County, IL admitted to the Civil Engineering program.  Second preference to a student from Clinton County admitted to an engineering program other than Civil Engineering.  High performance in high school and ACT or SAT.  May be given to continuing student from Clinton County if no suitable incoming freshman is identified. Non-renewable 
Eggers Engineering Scholarship  Up to $4000/year Admission to an engineering program, with preference to students in Departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering.  Fund is mostly for NACME scholarships.  High performance in high school and ACT or SAT. Renewable as per scholarship program guidelines (ie. NACME).  Non-renewable if not NACME. 
WYSE Academic Challenge Scholarship (utilizes funds from several donors, each will be designated at time of award) $1000 (2nd Place) or $2000 (1st Place) one-time  Illinois statewide winners or runners-up in Worldwide Youth for Science and Engineering (WYSE) Academic Challenge.  Must be admitted to an engineering program.  Non-renewable 
NACME Scholarship (utilizes funds from several donors, each will be designated at time of award)  Up to $4000/year, renewable  Recipients must be minority students as defined by National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME).  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Renewable if student remains in Good Standing and enrolled in an engineering program.  Annual amount based on academic performance 
Illinois Women in Engineering  Scholarship (utilizes funds from several donors, each will be designated at time of award) Up to $4000/year renewable  Recipients limited to women.  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program. Renewable if student remains in Good Standing and enrolled in an engineering program.  Annual amount based on academic performance
Ford Foundation Undergraduate Engineering Scholarship  $3000 one-time or renewable (indicated in offer letter)  Admission to an engineering program.  High performance in high school and ACT or SAT.  Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program. 
Dwight L. & Rowena R. Glasscock Memorial Scholarship  $3000 one time  Financial need based on FAFSA, high academic merit and admission an engineering program.  Non-renewable 
Grant Warren Spear Memorial Scholarship in Engineering  Up to $4000/year  Utilized for NACME scholarships.  Renewable if student remains in Good Standing and enrolled in an engineering program.  Annual amount based on academic performance.
Wilmer Hellenthal Scholarship  Up to $4000/year Utilized for NACME scholarships. Renewable if student remains in Good Standing and enrolled in an engineering program.  Annual amount based on academic performance.
Richard L. and Virginia Johnson Scholarship  $3000 one time  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Non-renewable 
Irene N. Jones Estate Scholarship  $3000 one time  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Student must be resident of Will or Cook Counties in Illinois.  Non-renewable 
William E. Kinkead Scholarship  Up to $4000/year Utilized for NACME scholarships. Renewable if student remains in Good Standing and enrolled in an engineering program.  Annual amount based on academic performance.
Nadine Barrie Smith – Andrew Webb WIE Scholarship $4000/yr renewable  Recipents must have demonstrated need, be female, and be US citizens.  Preference is given to women majoring in Electrical Engineering.  Renewable if student remains in Good Standing and enrolled in an engineering program. 
Helen McDonnell Memorial Scholarship  $3000 one-time or renewable (indicated in offer letter) Financial need based on FAFSA, high academic merit and admission to an engineering program. Renewable if student remains in Good Standing and enrolled in an engineering program. 
Calvin Barnes Niccolls Memorial Scholarship  $3000 one-time  Financial need based on FAFSA, male student. Admission to an engineering program. High performance in high school and ACT or SAT.   Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program. 
Vincent E. O'Brien Iroquois County Scholarship $3000/yr renewable  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Student must be a graduate of Iroquois County, Illinois high school and be recommended by their high school Principal.  Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program. 
John W. Page Scholarship  Up to $4000/year (indicated in offer letter) Financial need based on FAFSA is required, as is admission to an engineering program.  May be utilized as a NACME scholarship.   Recipients must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program. If NACME, annual amount based on academic performance.
Franklin McRae Phillips Memorial Scholarship  $3000 one time  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Non-renewable 
Charles S. Pillsbury Scholarship in Engineering  $3000 one time  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Non-renewable 
Joanne and Roger L. Plummer Scholarship  $3000 one time  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Non-renewable 
Sundstrand Scholarship in Memory of Donald A. Straznickas  $3000 one-time  Admission to an engineering program.  High performance in high school and ACT or SAT.   Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program. 
George M. Unger Scholarship  $4,000/year renewable  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program.
Wilbur L. Walker Memorial Award  $3000 one time  Admission to an engineering program. First preference to a student from Hancock County, Illinois.  Non-renewable except in the case that no new freshmen enroll from Hancock County 
Charles W. Wheatley Endowed Scholarship  $4000/yr renewable  High academic merit and admission to an engineering program.  Student must be a resident of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.  Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program. 
L. Newton Wylder Engineering Scholarship  $3000/yr renewable Financial need based on FAFSA, high academic merit and admission to an engineering program. Student must be in good academic standing and continue to be enrolled in an engineering program.
