Biography

Dr. Blake Landry is currently a Research Associate & Lecturer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Urbana-Champaign (2011) under the supervision of Prof. Marcelo Garcia, his Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering with focus on Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Coastal Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2004) under Prof. Chiang Mei, and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (2001 with honors). He is a Naval Research Enterprise Intern Program (NREIP) Fellow (2010) and College of Engineering Mavis Memorial Teaching Fellow (2009). Additionally, Dr. Landry is consistently among UIUC￿s List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by Their Students for his CEE 452:Hydraulic Design and Analysis course (Spring 2009-2014). His general research interests are in urban hydraulics, environmental fluid mechanics, sediment transport processes, morphodynamics (especially in coastal regions), and the development of new advanced sensor technologies to solve complex real world challenges, which has led to his co-founding of multiple engineering technology companies.
