Application Process There are 3 steps in the College of Engineering exchange student application process: application received from home university, application reviewed by the College of Engineering, final acceptance from the International Admissions Office. Applications must be received by home school coordinator. Applications submitted by students will not be accepted!

  • Must be a student at a University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign College of Engineering partner university.
  • ‘B’ average
  • 610 (253 computer and 103 iBT based) TOEFL or 6.5 IELTS *
  • Completed at least 1 year in residence at home university
*Students who score below the minimum requirements on the TOEFL or IELTS may be required to provide additional verification of their English language level and/or take an English Placement Test.
Course Restrictions We cannot guarantee enrollment in any specific course, so it is important for exchange students to be as flexible as possible in their course selection. College of Engineering students cannot take courses offered by the College of Business—NO EXCEPTIONS.
