Engineering at Illinois is a challenging program of study but many students are successful. The College of Engineering consistently ranks among the top nationally in the number of degrees awarded, according to the American Society for Engineering Education. In a typical year, the college awards:

  • more than 250 doctoral degrees 

Considered to be well trained and well rounded, our students are in demand by employers around the world. Statistics from Engineering Career Services show:

  • more than 3,000 jobs are posted to the online job system
  • more than 400 companies recruit on campus each year
  • on average, each graduating engineering student has six job interviews
  • on average, each engineering student who participates in interviews receives more than two job offers each

Engineering Career Services

The Engineering Career Services Office provides  resources, technology, and services to students, corporate recruiters, alumni, and faculty of the College of Engineering. This office can help when students want practical experience through a summer or semester internship or by participating in a co-op program, and also when they are ready for full-time employment after graduation. 

When students become alumni, this office can help them to post a job or internship opportunity for students, start a new career, participate in a mentor program, network with other engineering alumni, or volunteer their time and talent to assist students with their career searches and professional development.
