Plan a Visit

One of the best ways for you to figure out whether the College of Engineering is a good fit for you is to experience the campus first-hand. Come to campus for an afternoon, a day or a weekend—the guided tours and visit days will take you through campus and into classrooms, laboratories and dorm rooms.

Engineering Campus Tours

For students considering engineering as a possible major, the Engineering Information Bureau offers student-led informational tours of the engineering campus Monday through Friday. Daily walking tours depart from the Alice Campbell Alumni Center (3rd floor, Beasley Training Room, except on Orange & Blue days) at 2:00 p.m. and conclude in Room 206 Engineering Hall, where deans and academic advisors are on hand to answer questions and provide additional information about Engineering at Illinois. Allow slightly more than an hour for the tour and another hour for conversations.

For tours during holiday breaks or other times, call 217/333-2280.

Campus Visitors Center at Illinois

The Campus Visitors Center welcomes prospective undergraduate students with daily programs at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (with some exceptions). Each program includes a media presentation, admission and housing information, and a campus tour. Reservations are required. Students may choose to go on the engineering tour during the afternoon session (see below). The general campus tour includes a tour of a residence hall. For further information, call 217/333-0824.
