The success of Henry Beling as an engineer is unquestionable; his private firm is ranked fourth in the nation among those in its field. As a mark of extra achievement, Henry Beling has a record of public service approached by few engineers. In promotion of education, he has served on local and state school boards and commissions for a total of more than fifty years, and has been a leader in the creation of fire safety codes for schools. In his community, he has promoted such notable projects as the Quad-City Music Guild; rehabilitation of the mentally handicapped; Beling Park Playground; Boy Scout Camping Fund; a Home Economics Loan Fund; scholarship recognition banquets; and aid for the elderly. A singular undertaking has been an aid program for poverty stricken people of Haiti, through which thousands have been helped to improve their conditions.

Current as of 1971.
