George M. C. Fisher
George M. C. Fisher is a Senior Advisor at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Eastman Kodak Company from 1993 to 1999.
Prior to joining Kodak, Fisher worked at Motorola Inc. He was appointed the Senior Vice president and Assistant General Manager of the communications sector, and later served as the Senior Executive Vice President and a Deputy to the Chief Executive Officer. He became the President and Chief Executive Officer in 1988.
after being involved in research and development at bell telephone laboratories for a decade, fisher was elected chairman of the board. he also serves as the chairman and Director of panamsat corporation, and has been a Director of visant holding corporation since 2005. he has been a Director of eli lilly and company since 2000, and a Director of general motors corporation since 1996.
Recognized for leadership in electronic communications and corporate management, Fisher is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was elected to the International Academy of Astronautics in 2001.
Fisher is a former member of the Advisory Board of Allianz International in Germany, an emeritus member of the Singapore Economic Development Board’s International Advisory Council, and a member of the Tsinghua University Executive Education Advisory Board in China. He was a member of the Board of the National Urban League, Inc. and the University of Illinois Foundation, where he served as the Chairman. Formerly, Fisher was Chairman of the Industry Policy Advisory Committee (IPAC). He is a past member and former Chairman of the United States-China Business Council and the Council on Competitiveness. Fisher was appointed a member of the President’s Advisory Council for Trade Policy and Negotiations from 1993 to 2002.
