Within the College of Engineering, the breadth, scope, and variety of research activities are enormous, totaling approximately 2,000 projects currently under way. As a more than $236-million endeavor, the research programs involve some 650 researchers and thousands of graduate and undergraduate students working on projects directed by engineering faculty.
At Illinois, collaboration is part of our culture and factors into our research success. Indeed, many of the most important innovations of the past century can be tied to new knowledge, discovery, and research advanced by the disciplinary excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration of our faculty, alumni, and students.
